I got the flea market fever

There is something special about a flea market that thrift shops don´t have. Maybe it´s the "once a year" aspect. The excitement growing the closer you get to the date of the flea market. "Maybe this year..........". Waking up early in the morning to be there in time. Standing in line waiting for them to cut the tape.

I´ve been to quiet a few lately. Not much on the pottery front. It seems to have gone somewhere else to be sold. But lots of tablecloth. And I don´t even have to run to get hold of it before everyone else. I´m often pretty alone in that department. Except for last weekend when I brought two helpers with me. Two stylish girls aged 8 and 11. Here´s what they found for the shop:

and a pile of tablecloth they helped me to choose:

The coming weekends might be slow regarding flea markets. It´s the high season for holiday. But come August we start again. With the flea market fever.

  2. Beautiful fabrics....that style of high quality Scandinavian fabric was very popular here in the 1960s and 1970s but so hard to find here now, and very expensive when it is around.. I wonder where all the pottery has gone?? Maybe people have reaised it is worth something and now hang on to it more, or their children do :)

Birgitte - what do you think the best month in between June-September is to visit Denmark generally - to find good local markets, shopping etc, weather, not tooo crowded ??

    1. There are lots of small private flea markets all summer and in Copenhagen there is also a few flea markets in July as well. Even though I would say August is the best month. The weather is mostly fine and apart from crowds of Italians Copenhagen is not so crowded with tourists.

You´re probably right about the pottery - or they sell it themselves :-)
